Hatching of an egg

Headless cow!!

(True story) I was lying on the couch in my basement really late at night. All of a sudden, I heard my sister’s desktop computer shut off. At first I was a little freaked out, but then figured it was probably nothing out of the ordinary (mind you, I don’t know many computers that just shut off by themselves unless there’s a powercut or some such thing). What really freaked me out, however, was when her laptop (a few feet away from the desktop, but plugged in elsewhere) turned itself on 2 minutes after the desktop turned off. Is my house haunted? You decide…

I am happy to say that I am no longer bike less for the summer. I picked up a new motorcycle on Wednesday. It’s a 2004 Suzuki SV650…the exact type that I wanted from the start. Well…I wanted a silver one, but blue is cool too. I rode it home, and man the thing sounds soooo beautiful. A lot better than my old bike that had somewhat of an industrial engine sound. I probably started the thing up 5 times today just to hear it.

The bad thing is that I don’t have any insurance on it, and probably won’t get any until next year. The hardest part will be staying off of it and not riding it. I failed that task today.

I wake up and go into the garage, start the bike up just so I could check something out. Before I know it I am upstairs in my room gathering all my riding gear. I went out to the corner gas station and filled up. All this happened while my parents were out for a doctors appointment…so they’re none the wiser.

Telling my mom I am getting a new motorcycle was like hell. I didn’t know what to say or if I should say anything at all. After stuttering I finally got the words out; “mom…im going to pick up a new motorcycle”. She obviously got mad and started telling me its no safe, I should have spent the money on a new car. Her exact words were “people with any sense would have put that money towards a car, not a motorcycle” I just stood there like a deer caught in the headlights…I didn’t know what to say. Then she stopped talking, and I figured I shouldn’t say anything at all cause it would just piss her off more…so I just patted her head and left. Man…after that I almost didn’t even want the motorcycle anymore, which is exactly why I never told my mom before.

I know my mom is just looking after me and doesn’t want me to hurt but sometimes you just gotta go against the grain. There’s a lot of things that I have given up because my parents did not or would not approve of but this is the one that I just need to do for myself. At the risk of getting sappy…here are some pics
