Back to XP? I went back to XP after I used Fedora Core 4. Fedora was a mistake. Right now I’m using the ‘Breezy Badger’ version of Ubuntu.
Why did I go back to to Linux from XP? I’m a legal license holder for XP Professional. But does that mean ANYTHING to Microsoft? Nope. Does it mean anything to them that my Product ID doesn’t work when I’m trying to install Windows? NOPE! Does it mean anything to them that without an activated copy of Windows, I can’t use my school’s wireless internet? Not one bit. All they care about is the fact that they could have squeezed $40 out of me because playing it their was is the only option. They wanted me to pay $30-40 dollars US just to speak to a technician about the problem, and I think that was hourly. Well, I didn’t give in. I have other options. Microsoft isn’t the only option. I’m not paying them one more penny. They don’t deserve it. Why? They want my money, not my satisfaction. All those stories about their call centres being in India? All true. For customer satisfaction? Hah. That’s just another way to save some more pennies for our good friends at Micro$oft.
Linux Zindabaad 😉
