My Ode to Lakeshore

I stumbled upon the shore
one sunny day
I submerged my gloomy feelings
into the shore that day
I took off my chappals
and dipped my feet into the nippy water
I wanted the water to swallow me in
Whole, bare, and uncontrolled
I wished the waves could feel my pain
and gulp me in
Become enraged and fuming as me
Or at least freeze me til numbness kicked in
Instead the waves soothed my pain slowly
As spring, summer, fall and winter cycled along
The waves and their jolly
My therapeutic melody
This past December, I wrote an article for Wikipedia (an online encyclopedia) on how diversity should fit into the school curriculum. Majoring in education of kiddies, this issue is very dear to me. The anti-bias curriculum is relatively unknown and should be advocated. And that’s exactly what I intend to do.
